Child Welfare Nelspruit.

We take pride in our commitment.

Child Welfare, SA, Nelspruit was established in 1937. Our aim is to provide assistance to all children and families experiencing social problems.

As a non-governmental (NGO), non-racial, and non-denominational organization, we renders services to vulnerable families in Nelspruit and the surrounding areas. Our aim is to assist, protect and promote the interests, safety and well being of our children under the age of 18, within the context of their family and community life.

Children that are vulnerable and at risk are as a result of exposure to abuse, neglect, sexual exploitation, abandonment, orphanhood, domestic violence, divorce, crime, HIV/AIDS, poverty, alcohol, substance abuse, commercial sex workers, child labour, child trafficking, and disability.

We take pride in our commitment to the surrounding community and our focus is on empowering vulnerable people and communities with skills and resources that is sustainable, will alleviate poverty, and will enable them to participate more actively in their own future.

We as the Du Plessis family would like to express our gratitude towards the staff of Child Welfare services with regards to adoptions. This can be an intimidating and overwhelming experience for people who are going through it for the first time. From the start they had an open-door policy and willingness to go the extra mile, when we felt intimidated and unsure of what to do next, they always reassured us and took our hand, guiding us step by step, all the way. The Social Workers work very hard to make a difference. Most of the time when we called they were out in the field attending to other cases, but when we left a message they always came back to us, and we appreciated that tremendously. When our social worker went on leave we were informed timeously that Lucia would take over. On the day we went to court, we as a family were very stressed, she sat with us the whole day, until the process was finalized, despite her own child being sick that day, she was there for us - we could not express enough gratitude. We would recommend Child Welfare services with an open heart to anyone, their dedication to finalizing cases speaks for itself, we have walked this road with them for almost 4 years. Even though it is a long and difficult road - they never make you feel that all is lost, they always handle everything calmly, professionally, and with skill.
